MONTRÉAL, Dec. 21, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - A number of city facilities will remain open during the Christmas and New Year's holiday, while others will have a specific schedule.
Most city offices will be closed from December 24 to January 4, 2016, inclusive, including borough and Accès Montréal offices.
PICKUPS (food waste, recycling and household waste)
Pickups will take place according to regular schedule in the following boroughs:
- L'Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève
- Montréal-Nord
- Outremont
- Pierrefonds-Roxboro
Pickups will be cancelled in the following boroughs:
- Ahuntsic-Cartierville (household waste and recycling)
- Le Plateau-Mont-Royal (household waste and kitchen waste)
- Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie (bulky items)
- Ville-Marie (household waste)
- Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension (household waste)
Other pickups will be held in advance or postponed in the following boroughs:

Christmas tree pickups
The pickup of Christmas trees will be held after the holiday period. Residents are asked to leave their Christmas trees at the curb, without their ornaments, in front of their residence, before 7 a.m. on pickup day. This is a special collection apart from the household waste pickup.

ECOCENTRES
All ecocentres will be closed December 24, to January 4, 2016, inclusive. For more information on ecocentres, please visit: www.ville.montreal.qc.ca/ecocentres.
SPORTS AND CULTURAL FACILITIES
Arenas, swimming pools, sports centres, libraries and cultural centres will follow different schedules depending on the borough. Residents are asked to contact those facilities, or check the schedules on the web.
The Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard will be closed from December 24 to 26, inclusive, and from December 31 to January 1, inclusive. Closing hours will be different during the holidays: 8 p.m. during the week and 4 p.m. weekends. Information: 514 872-6900.
The Pointe-à-Callière, Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History will be closed on December 25 and January 1. The museum will be open exceptionally on Monday, December 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular schedule will be maintained on December 27, 28, 30 and 31. SPACE FOR LIFE
The Biodôme, Insectarium, Botanical Garden and Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium will be closed on December 24 and 25. Visit espacepourlavie.ca for more information.
MUNICIPAL COURT AND OTHER FACILITIES
The municipal court, 775, rue Gosford, will be closed from December 24 to January 4, inclusive. Information: 514 872-2964.
Other service counters will be closed from December 24 to 28, and open on December 29 and 30. They will be closed from December 31 to January 4, inclusive.
PUBLIC MARKETS
Public markets will be closed on December 25 and 26 and January 1 and 2. Otherwise, they will be open according to regular schedule, except on December 24 and 31, and close earlier at 5 p.m. Information: 514 937-7754.
Bonsecours Market, 350, rue Saint-Paul Est, will be closed December 25 and January 1.
PARKING
Please note that parking pay stations remain operational throughout the 2015-2016 holidays and that motorists must also obey parking signs.
