Whistler Water Inc. Receives Direct Investment from Prominent Chinese Investor Group

• Canada's Premium Glacial Water, Whistler Water, driving international expansion

BURNABY, BC, Sept. 8, 2016 /CNW/ - On the occasion of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's visit to China for the G20 meeting, Whistler Water Inc. signed a substantial investment agreement to promote, market and sell Whistler Water branded products in China and other overseas markets.

The business relationship was officially established in Shanghai on Thursday, September 1^st, 2016 at a signing ceremony attended by the Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, and the Hon. Chrystia Freeland, Canada's Minister of International Trade.

The investors are led by Zhen Partners Fund IV, L.P. (ZhenFund), a prominent investor in China's business community known to have invested in hundreds of business technology ventures in the country. This is the first time ZhenFund has ventured outside of China to make an investment in traditional manufacturing.

"Chinese people would love to enjoy the quality of life that Canadians take for granted," said Bob Xu, ZhenFund's founding President, who signed the agreement on behalf of the investors. "Perhaps one of the best ways for them to do it is to drink Canadian water, like Whistler Water."

Drinking water quality is a major concern in China, where media reports have suggested that up to 80 per cent of the underground water is polluted or at serious risk of becoming contaminated.
