TORONTO, Feb. 21, 2016 /CNW/ - In an episode that saw some home cooks compete in an intricate skills test and a surprise challenge, the final composition of the MASTERCHEF CANADA Season 3 Top 14 was revealed on CTV tonight. Judges Michael Bonacini, Alvin Leung, and Claudio Aprile handed out coveted white aprons to finalists from the West through to the East Coast, to form a Top 14 that includes a carpenter, accountant, salon manager, makeup artist, lawyer, teacher, doctor, and a PhD law student. The home cooks are now competing for the chance to win a $100,000 cash prize and the title of Canada's next MasterChef. Returning to CTV after a one week break for CTV's broadcast of THE OSCARS® on Sunday, February 28, with coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET, the MASTERCHEF CANADA competition continues Sundays at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO on March 6.

In the next all-new episode of MASTERCHEF CANADA, "At Home and Abroad" (Sunday, March 6 at 7 p.m. ET/PT), the Top 14 home cooks face their first Mystery Box Challenge with 13 ingredients from each of Canada's 10 provinces and three territories. The winner of the Mystery Box gets to select one of three International cuisines that are near and dear to the judges' hearts – and some of the home cooks get lost in translation.
