Will Fright Night bring bone-chilling cold or wicked warmth? The Weather Network shares its Halloween Forecast Français
OAKVILLE, ON, Oct. 27, 2016 /CNW/ - With much of Canada experiencing dramatic temperature swings this past month, The Weather Network's meteorologists have released their Halloween Forecast to help Canadians plan their evening and costumes accordingly. Will the most frightful night of the year bring boo-ming storms or will it be eerily calm for trick-or-treaters?
"Fall is the season where we typically see rapid transitions and frequent weather fluctuations, and this past month has been no different," said Chris Scott, Chief Meteorologist at The Weather Network. "Most of the country has been seeing the classic seesaw of temperatures and we're expecting to see this pattern continue through Halloween, with conditions varying sharply across the country. This weather pattern has the potential for surprises, so check the forecast frequently to make sure the little ghosts and ghouls are properly prepared."
Since weather isn't always cooperative during the fall, a few challenges tend to arise when it comes time to dress kids for Halloween. Although parents will want their little superhero or pirate to look the part, it's important to make sure that they are appropriately dressed for the weather. Layering clothing under costumes will help keep trick-or-treaters warm while running from house to house, avoiding the need to wear a bulky jacket. Not only is it important to keep warm, but safety is crucial when it comes to trick-or-treating after sunset so that drivers are able to see trick-or-treater on a dark, rainy night. Adding reflective tape to costumers or incorporating glow sticks can help keep trick-or-treating safe and fun, regardless of weather conditions.
