Wind turbine noise testing needs total overhaul: Wind Concerns Ontario
OTTAWA, June 28, 2016 /CNW/ - Ontario's proposed changes to wind turbine noise regulations are "minor tweaks," says Wind Concerns Ontario. "Science has advanced but it's not reflected in these changes," says president Jane Wilson. "Measuring only audible noise is not enough: the Wynne government needs to take complaints seriously and act responsibly."
The Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change does not routinely measure turbine noise, WCO says. It relies on power developers' information, usually predicted models for noise, not actual measurement.
