Winnipeg's Ian Rabb Vying for $100,000 Charity Prize
Scotiabank National Game Changer to be announced at the 100th Grey Cup
WINNIPEG, Nov. 7, 2012 /CNW/ - Winnipeg's Ian Rabb has been named a Scotiabank National Game Changer Finalist for his passion and dedication to helping people who suffer with addiction. Ian will be recognized on-field at the 100th Grey Cup in Toronto where he could win $100,000 for Two Ten Recovery Inc, an organization with a mission to provide a sober environment for men and women in recovery from drug or alcohol addiction.
"This is a win-win situation as I am representing our Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Two Ten Recovery for a chance to help save lives," said Ian Rabb. "If we won, we will use the money to enhance the homes we are currently running and create an employment program so the people we help can become independent and self-reliant more quickly. About Ian:
- Ian has spent a decade helping change the lives of hundreds of people who suffer from addiction.
- After recognizing the lack of housing in Winnipeg for individuals recovering from substance abuse, he founded Two Ten Recovery, which provides safe, structured drug and alcohol-free housing.
- Ian helps provide hope and guidance and continues to fight to make a difference in the lives of recovering addicts and alcoholics.
- Ian has also served as a board member for Tamarack Rehabilitation Centre, the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba, and as a participant in the Manitoba Meth Task Force.
Ian is one of eight Scotiabank National Game Changer Finalists, one for every CFL market. The Scotiabank National Game Changer will be announced during the game and broadcast on TSN during the 100th Grey Cup on November 25, 2012.
