Women in electricity - it's our conversation
TORONTO, April 29, 2016 /CNW/ - Connect with prominent Canadian women at the Electricity Distributors Association's (EDA) Women Connected conference at the Design Exchange in Toronto on May 3. New ideas will be brought forward on enhancing business success and personal career growth by leveraging the value that women bring to the table.
Dr. Bipasha Baruah, Canada Research Chair in Global Women's Issues, has been investigating women's employment and gender inequity around the world in the clean energy sector and will share her recommendations on making the most of women's skill sets.
Strong mentors are also key to building women up in the sector. Anna Murray, Founder of Young Women in Energy, will address how meeting the right people, in the right way, at the right time can help women build a sustainable career.
Joining the conversation are a number of other experts who will shed light on issues like workforce diversity and the value of "intrapreneurship", an approach to corporate mentorship from within:

- Rebecca Heaslip, Chief Talent Advisor and President, LEADERSHIP INSIGHT Inc.
- Pamela Jeffery, Founder, Canadian Board Diversity Council and the Women's Executive Network

- The Hon. Tracey MacCharles, Minister Responsible for Women's Issues.
