KELOWNA, BC, March 8, 2019 /CNW/ - Today in celebration of International Women's Day, Women In Leadership (WIL) Foundation, a national organization committed to advancing women's leadership, is launching a new chapter in Kelowna. We could not do this without our Best Employers Program partners; therefore, today, we are recognizing and celebrating partnerships with the BC Public Service, IG Wealth Management, Interior Health and Tolko Industries. Our WIL Best Employers for Women Program is helping employers hire and support a diverse workplace. This is just one of the many programs now be available local organizations along with current and emerging leaders.
Only 3% are Chief Executive Officers are women and only 16% hold board seats. It is proven that a gender-balanced team is the best performance model. In addition there is a significant labour shortage.
We are very proud to be an Employer Partner of the Women In Leadership Foundation supporting and inspiring women. A large number of our amazing health-care providers are women and our goal with the support of WIL is to help them also become great health-care leaders.
