Women's Executive Network Opens Nominations for Canada's Most Powerful Women
Nominations for annual Top 100 Awards kicks off today with pay-it-forward social media campaign
TORONTO, March 8, 2019 /CNW/ - As part of International Women's Day, Women's Executive Network (WXN) CEO, Sherri Stevens, announced nominations for Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards officially opened to the public today. Top 100 was created to recognize the incredible accomplishments of women, develop a community of support, and increase the visibility of strong leaders in order to inspire future generations. Honourees span the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, with the initial candidates selected by WXN's Diversity Council.
"International Women's Day is the perfect day to open the nominations for the Top 100 Awards. Our country is full of outstanding women who have advocated for diversity in the workforce, and who serve as an inspiration for the next generation of leaders," said Stevens. "Top 100 Awards recognizes female leaders who are not only driving positive change and progress, but also to remind us of the importance of empowering women in our workforce and in communities across Canada regardless of race, sexual orientation, abilities, or cultural background."
This year, WXN announces two new categories: Science and Technology, and Industry and Trades. Other categories recognize achievement in areas such as arts, sports and entertainment, entrepreneurship, corporate directorship, emerging leadership, and more. For full list of categories, click here.

Also launching today is a social media campaign in support of Top 100 nominations called "#NominateHer" where women across the nation will be encouraged to use their social media platforms to select other female leaders to be considered for one of the coveted Canada's Most Powerful Women spots. Harnessing the power of social media to reach groups who haven't been reached before, the pay-it-forward campaign seeks to inspire women to recognize and honour female leaders who have made a difference in the corporate world.
