4-D Interactive Attraction Wins IAAPA's Best Product and Impact Awards
VAUGHAN, ON, Nov. 21, 2014 /CNW/ - Guests of Canada's Wonderland experienced an award winning attraction during the 2014 season. Wonder Mountain's Guardian, the parks new interactive 4-D dark ride, took home top honours this week at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Attractions Expo in Orlando, Florida. IAAPA's Brass Ring Awards are presented to amusement parks, water parks, zoos, aquariums, museums, family entertainment centers, and suppliers from around the world honouring excellence in the global attractions industry.
Wonder Mountain's Guardian was awarded the Best New Product Award for 2014 in the Major Theme/Amusement Park Ride/Attraction category. Canada's Wonderland partnered with Montreal based TRIOTECH, a leading manufacturer of multisensory attractions for the amusement industry, and developer of the ground breaking technology for this attraction. The real time graphics as well as the fast and accurate targeting system created an ultra-immersive interactive experience that caught the eye of IAAPA. These effects, seamlessly integrated with the unique roller coaster experience, made Wonder Mountain's Guardian the first of its kind.
Wonder Mountain's Guardian also won IAAPA's Impact Award, recognizing the best new product or service in the amusement parks and attractions industry that will mark the greatest impact on the overall market. The impact can already be seen as Cedar Fair Entertainment Company prepares to launch an exciting new 4-D interactive attraction at Knott's Berry Farm for 2015.
