Wood WORKS! Alberta Prairie Wood Design Award Program: Call for submissions!

CALGARY, Dec. 8, 2015 /CNW/ - The awards program recognizes projects and organizations that, through design excellence, advocacy, and innovation, advance the use of wood in all types of construction. 

We are currently seeking submissions in the following categories:

• Commercial Wood Design
• Institutional Wood Design
• Recreational Wood Design
• Residential Wood Design
• Interior Wood Design Showcase

Projects must have been completed between January 1, 2011 and December 22, 2015 to be eligible.

Deadline to Submit: Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 11:59 pm EST

Awards Gala and announcement

• The Jury's selection will be announced on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Chateau Lacombe Hotel Ballroom in Edmonton, Alberta
• The nominated Architect will be offered 2 complimentary tickets to the gala. Project recognition is given to the architect/design firm unless otherwise specified in the application.
• Winning projects are highlighted in the Wood Design & Building awards book and magazine and qualifies your project for a free submission in the North American Design Award competition. (Approx. value of $190 USD)

Wood WORKS! is a national, industry-led initiative of the Canadian Wood Council that promotes and supports the use of wood in all types of construction. Working with the design community, Wood WORKS! connects practitioners with resources related to the use of wood in commercial, industrial, institutional and multi-unit residential construction, assists in product sourcing, and delivers educational seminars and training opportunities to existing and future practitioners.
