Woodstock Couple Charged In Alleged Investment Fraud
LONDON, ON, May 13 /CNW/ - The Royal Canadian Mounted Police London/Sarnia Regional Detachment has charged two people in relation to an alleged investment fraud. The victims invested $116,500 with N. Star Development Group Ltd., expecting a large return in a short period of time. The investigation revealed the money was diverted to the personal benefit of the Director of the Company. This investigation was a spin off from a significant 2008 investment fraud investigation where six people were charged.
"Investors need to be aware that a promise of a high percentage return on investments in a short period of time is a red-flag warning," stated Inspector Dwight Blok, Officer in Charge of RCMP London/Sarnia Regional Detachment.
Charged with Fraud Over $5,000 and Fraud Under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada are:
Peter Snyder, 51, Woodstock, Ontario
Marcia Snyder, 49, Woodstock, Ontario
First appearance is scheduled for June 29, 2010 at Woodstock Court.
