World-renowned anthropologist, author and explorer Wade Davis speaking at Bloor Hot Docs Cinema
TORONTO, Oct. 24, 2012 /CNW/ - On Monday November 19, National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Wade Davis will be speaking at the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema for Outward Bound Canada's (OBC) Annual Lecture Series in Exploration. Davis will lecture on his recent book Into the Silence: The Great War, Mallory and the Conquest of Everest.
Davis has authored 13 books which have been translated into 14 languages. This year, he received The Explorers' Medal, the highest award of The Explorers Club in New York. David Suzuki described him as "a rare combination of scientist, scholar, poet and passionate defender of all life's diversity."
Doors open to general ticket holders at 7:00 p.m. Proceeds from the event will go toward OBC's core funded programs for disadvantaged youth. Tickets are available for purchase on the event website.
