Iconic Canadian restaurant chain makes generous donation to relief efforts
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Jan. 15, 2014 /CNW/ - Thanks to the generosity of Canadians from coast-to-coast, the Boston Pizza Foundation presented World Vision with a cheque for $108,000 to support the humanitarian agency's Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts.
Shortly after the devastating typhoon struck the Philippines last November, Boston Pizza franchisees rose to the challenge and agreed to donate a portion of their receipts to World Vision's Typhoon Haiyan Relief Fund. Combined with generous support from the Boston Pizza Foundation, these donations totaled more than $100,000. World Vision will use these funds to continue to support its life-saving efforts to provide food, supplies, medical care and shelter to children and their families affected by the typhoon.
