World Vision to identify invisible victims of global health tragedy
Aid & development agency creates striking visual for launch of child and maternal health report
TORONTO, May 27, 2014 /CNW/ - As world leaders meet in Toronto on Wednesday for the Saving Every Woman Every Child: Within Arm's Reach summit to strategize ways to prevent child and maternal deaths, just a few blocks away World Vision will put a stake in the ground for the millions of invisible victims of this global health tragedy. Against the backdrop of a stunning visual display, the agency will release a new report detailing who the children and mothers are that have been left behind and must be prioritized in global efforts through 2015 and beyond.

One hundred life-size silhouette figures of children and pregnant women will stake out the northeast corner of King and Church Streets in downtown Toronto. These "shadows" will represent the unreached, uncounted children and pregnant women who die every year from preventable causes. |
