Emergency Travel Document System

MONTREAL , Sept. 21 /CNW/ - ICAO MRTD 2009 - WorldReach Software, a leading consular solutions provider, partnering with Logica as the prime contractor and De La Rue, are pleased to announce the official deployment of secure, ICAO standards compliant Emergency Travel Documents (ETDs) for the United Kingdom's Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). The first UK FCO ETD issuance occurred August 27, 2009 in New York, USA, marking the first authorized worldwide use of an ETD issued via BRIDGE (BRitish Identity Document Generating Equipment).

With the expected roll-out to be completed by Spring 2010, the BRIDGE programme is modernising passport services to better serve British nationals traveling abroad, ensuring ease of travel to home or destination country. This state-of-the-art system provides an end-to-end secure overseas travel document issuance process and is based on the PassportReach software from WorldReach Software, while De La Rue designed, printed and produced the new ETD.
