Wounded Warriors.ca supported by the Military Police National Motorcycle
Relay Ride
TORONTO, Aug. 13 /CNW/ - Media across the country are invited to cover the Military Police National Motorcycle Relay Ride. Opportunities exist across the country as the ride goes from coast to coast. The ride will begin with an opening ceremony at Canadian Forces Base Comox on Vancouver Island, B.C. August 17th, 2010 and will finish in Saint John's, Newfoundland on September 10th, 2010.
Along the route the ride will be visiting ceremonies, fundraisers and barbeques, all focused on raising money for Wounded Warriors.ca and for the Military Police Fund for Blind Children (www.mpfbc.com).
- B.C. to Manitoba (17-25 Aug) - Thunder Bay, (26 Aug) - Sault Ste Marie (27 Aug) - North Bay (28 Aug) - Meaford, Oshawa, Trenton (29 Aug) - Ottawa (30 Aug) - Quebec to Nfld. (31 August to 10 September)
Numerous corporate sponsors have come on board to assist the ride;
- CN Rail is transporting all the motorcycles from the East; - Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP Can-Am) have donated a 2010 RT Spyder for the ride, painted in the Military Police colours; and - Personnel Insurance Company is insuring the Spyder for the ride.
The Oshawa to Trenton leg will be attended by Whistlestop Productions and featured in an upcoming television episode of Canadian Chopper.
Wounded Warriors.ca is an independent not-for-profit charity that supports Canadian soldiers wounded overseas. It is primarily a fundraising mechanism that supports existing programs that tend to injured soldiers.
