York-Eglinton BIA Annual Community Clean-Up Day: Keeping Our Community Spotless
TORONTO, May 4, 2012 /CNW/ - The York-Eglinton Business Improvement Area (BIA) is inviting its business owners, residents and neighbours to join in at this year's annual York-Eglinton BIA Community Clean-Up Day on Saturday, May 12, 2012. The entire community will be out with garbage bags and gloves to pick up litter from sidewalks and walkways along Eglinton Ave. W.
The event kicks off with registration at 11:00 a.m. followed by a free barbeque for volunteers at 12:00 p.m. at the Green P Parking Lot at 1607 Eglinton Avenue West (Eglinton Ave. W. at Oakwood Ave.).
The Clean-Up Day is both a litter removal and environmental awareness education event. Sponsored, in part, by the local Tim Hortons this event will have giveaways and facepaintin for the kids!
Along with the removal of garbage, electronic waste will be collected by the Ontario Electronic Stewardship. Electronic waste including old computers and batteries can be disposed of properly rather than ending up in our landfills.
GreenTBiz will be onsite promoting new solar power options for both homes and businesses. Solar power is just one way to improve your eco-footprint while helping your bottom line.
This event is sponsored by Tim Hortons, Green P and many local community groups.
