TORONTO, Oct. 10, 2013 /CNW/ - The Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) has revealed the three winners of its second annual Power of Wind blog contest during the final day of the Association's 29th Annual Conference and Exhibition in Toronto, Ontario. This unique opportunity is launched annually during CanWEA's Global Wind Day celebrations, held on June 15th.
Every year, CanWEA is pleased to present bursary prizes to three students entering or in post-secondary education. This year, over 500 captivating blogs were submitted by students on the subject of Building a Clean Energy Future. Students were asked to creatively describe how they are personally involved in building a renewable energy future.
"CanWEA's annual blog contest gives students an exclusive opportunity to share personal experiences on an issue that is important to them. Each year we eagerly await the opportunity to review each submission and are very proud to celebrate with these students the growing contribution that wind energy is making here in Canada and around the world," said CanWEA President, Robert Hornung.
Wind energy projects are right now injecting hundreds of millions of dollars into local communities and providing high quality jobs for college graduates across the country. We are pleased to announce this year's Power of Wind blog contest winners:
