YouTube Video Contest Highlights the Value of Ontario's Unique School System

TORONTO, Jan. 11, 2013 /CNW/ - The Ontario Catholic School Trustees' Association (OCSTA) announced today the winners of a unique YouTube short video contest for high school students designed to highlight the value of education in Ontario's Catholic schools.

Last fall OCSTA invited students from across Ontario's 29 Catholic District School Boards to create a 1-minute video that communicates the distinctive impact and value of a Catholic education for young people today.  Participants were asked to upload submissions to the popular public video sharing platform YouTube. The contest is part of Ontario Catholic schools' "Faith in Our Future Campaign".

Following are the 2013 Faith in Our Future Short Video Contest winners:

First Place: "Building People on Their Journey", created by the St. Patrick's Catholic School Media Group (London District Catholic School Board)

The Faith in Our Future campaign (www.faithinourfuture.ca) was created by OCSTA to recognize the distinct contributions of Catholic education to Ontario communities. Ontario's education system is consistently ranked among the best in the world and that is in part due to a unique public education structure that includes English, French and Catholic schools. Together Ontario schools demonstrate and celebrate inclusivity, diversity, academic excellence and faith.
