YWCA Toronto announces 2010 Women of Distinction
TORONTO, March 3 /CNW/ - Today YWCA Toronto announces the 2010 recipients of the prestigious Women of Distinction Awards. The awards recognize the contributions of women who have improved the lives of girls and women in Toronto.
The 2010 recipients are: Rona Abramovitch, Education Opening doors with education Jane Allen, Corporate Leadership Generating leadership opportunities for women Helen Burstyn, Community Leadership Giving women a seat at the table Mary Anne Chambers, Community Service Building community, creating brighter futures Sister June Dwyer, Health and Healing Nursing hope, healing families Claudine Labelle, Young Woman of Distinction An athletic spirit, a fit leader Noella Milne, Mentorship Elevating women in every domain Deborah Sinclair, Social Justice A pioneer in the movement to end violence against women
The awards will be presented during the 30th YWCA Women of Distinction Awards dinner, presented by Sun Life Financial, on Wednesday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. This year celebrates 30 years of inspiration. Tables and tickets to attend the awards are available for purchase.
