Zehrs(R) celebrates its 60th anniversary with a trip back in time

Zehrs opened in July 1950 and will mark occasion with in-store promotions and events

BRAMPTON, ON, April 8 /CNW/ - Calling all Cool Cats, Dollies and Greasers! It's time to put on your poodle skirts, bobby socks, saddle shoes - roll up your jeans and get ready to make the scene. Zehrs(R) is celebrating its 60th anniversary and we will be bringing the pop culture of the 1950s in-store to commemorate opening our doors on July 18, 1950. In-store promotions and events will be running from April 10 to June 27, 2010.

"As a way of showing our dedicated customers how important they are to us and thank them for 60 years of loyalty, we're running a contest and providing a series of in-store activities. In-store Activities

Starting this Saturday, shop and be greeted by colleagues dressed in a 1950s inspired uniform, while jiving to hits from the past. Keep an eye out for our Zehrs three-day sales, offering discounts on products and featured in the weekly flyer.

Drop by and play the Hi-Lo Game. To play, contestants select an item and then must guess if the price is really higher or lower than the marked price. All customers receive a token of appreciation for participating.

60th Anniversary Celebrations

Mark your calendars - On June 25, 26 and 27, colleagues and management from six Zehrs locations including, Paisley Road in Guelph; Morrison Street, Niagara Falls; Malden Road, Windsor; Yonge Street, Barrie; Conestoga Boulevard, Cambridge and Ottawa Street, Kitchener, will be holding an outdoor celebration inviting all members of the community to come out from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and join in on the fun. What's buzzin' cuzzin? There will be live radio remotes broadcasting from the store locations, antique cars set up in store parking lots and free ice cream. Be sure to keep an eye out for the Zehrs Anniversary Float, outfitted with a 1950 Cadillac and Jukebox, which will be visiting store locations all across Ontario, and participating in some local community parades. We will host outdoor barbecues, offering tasty delights from Pillers or Schneiders, with all proceeds benefitting President's Choice(R) Children's Charity. Be there or be square!
