5 Diamonds for 15 Years! - Le Baccara restaurant rated Five Diamonds for the 15th consecutive year

GATINEAU, QC, Nov. 17, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Le Baccara restaurant located at the Casino du Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, has been ranked Five Diamonds by the prestigious Canadian and American Automobile Associations (CAA/AAA) for the 15^th consecutive year.

The Five Diamond rating is a significant achievement according to Claude Poisson, President of Operations at the Société des casinos du Québec: "The Baccara team is extremely proud to have their hard work internationally recognized for a 15^th year in a row. This rating is difficult to earn and maintain, as many factors are considered in the evaluation, including menus, wine list, service and décor."

In addition to receiving the award, Le Baccara's Executive Chef, Pierre Lortie, and his team are participating in the Gold Medal Plates culinary competition today. Representing Le Baccara, Mr. Lortie will be joined by nine other restaurant chefs from Ottawa and Gatineau in a friendly fundraising competition benefiting the Canadian Olympic Foundation and athletes preparing for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Held in 11 cities throughout Canada, the contest brings together the best chefs in the country in a series of local competitions.

This fall, Le Baccara offers epicureans a memorable adventure with a new five or eight-course menu each month based on market-fresh products. Until November 28, inspired by "King of Chefs" and "Chef of Kings" Auguste Escoffier, the Wine and Gourmet Passion menu features classics of French cuisine, updated in Le Baccara style. In December, the Celebration Cuisine menu takes centre stage, featuring classics such as foie gras and lobster, tweaked with a touch of exoticism and the extravagance that is characteristic this time of the year.

Le Baccara was established when the Casino opened in March 1996. Since then, the restaurant has been offering creative gourmet cuisine starring fresh and high quality local products. Its impressive wine list includes privately imported Grands Crus that allow perfect wine pairings greatly appreciated by aficionados.
