QUEBEC, March 11, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - To never leave a pet alone when it gives birth and be there to assist if necessary, a Canadian invented a birth detector for cats and dogs.
The system includes a reusable smart membrane that detects the first signs of loss of amniotic fluid. ADDIK PET notifies the breeder about 20 minutes before birth. A web monitoring platform can be attached using a standard webcam.
The system informs the breeder via SMS. The camera allows future owners to witness live births and follow their growth during weaning. Camera access is done via ADDIKPET.COM.
Robert Morris, a sphinx cat breeder from Quebec City, invested 4 years to develop his product. He's now working on launching it. To obtain the necessary funding, he relies on the popular KICKSTARTER.COM platform (search ADDIK PET). The device is available for preorder at $795. Mr Morris will distribute a percentage of revenues to shelters for abandoned animals.
