A newly-elected president at the NWAC - The AFNQL sends a message of congratulations to Michèle Audette Français
WENDAKE, QC, Aug. 27, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - A well-known advocate for her accompaniment in challenging injustices faced by Aboriginal women and widely recognized by her peers, Michèle Audette, was elected at the head of the Native Women's Association of Canada, at the annual gathering of this organization, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
"On behalf of the Assembly of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador, I extend to Michèle Audette my warmest congratulations on her significant victory as the newly-elected president of the NWAC," stated the Chief of the AFNQL, Ghislain Picard.
"I will join undoubtedly with the voices of many women, and men also, who were overcome with a feeling of pride upon hearing the news that Michèle Audette will be leading the most important National Aboriginal organization, advocating particularly for the rights of Aboriginal women," added the Chief of the AFNQL "We wish her all the very best of success in this new challenge."
