Apple and other new partners meet at the Conference on Mobile Applications in support of new initiatives Français
MONTREAL, March 13, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Apple has announced its participation in the Conference on Mobile applications being held at Cégep Gérald-Godin, on April 17th. This announcement comes as other diffusion partners have also come on board: The Quebec Association of IT Freelancers (AQIII), The West Island of Montreal Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Canadian Association of Community Colleges.
Caroline De Guire, director of the AQIII, says she is excited by the challenge: "The fact that Cégep Gérald-Godin is organising a contest for mobile applications, sends a strong message," she said, "We will spread the news. We will also participate in the conference and present the tools which are available through the AQIII, to help our young people become entrepreneurs in the field of information technology."
Collège Boréal, in Ontario, uses iPads in many of its programs. Denis-Hubert Dutrisac, the college president, will present during the conference, the pedagogical applications used by this avant-garde school. "We have a special arrangement with Apple. Collège Boréal is one of the biggest users of mobile technology for pedagogical purposes in Canada", Mr. Dutrisac explained.
According to Joseph Huza, Director of the West Island of Montreal Chamber of Commerce, he is pleased to invite members to the Conference's closing cocktail at which time the winners of the mobile application contest will be revealed. "This is an opportunity for the WICC to increase its presence among francophones", he told us.
On April 17th, Cégep Gérald-Godin will welcome, in its magnificent setting, representatives from over twenty colleges, school boards and universities, as well as several companies and organisations, for this ACCC supported initiative. "We are doing this for the next generation, to introduce our students to the organisations with whom the will be interacting in the future", declared Christian Roy, director general of Cégep Gérald-Godin. "Strength lies in knowing that the interest runs both ways. Employers, also, want to get to know the future generation." The commitment of our partners shows just how important this issue truly is.
