GATINEAU, QC, June 12, 2013 /CNW/ - The Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced the appointment of Stephen J. Henley as Chairperson of the Canadian Museum of Nature Board of Trustees.
"I am delighted that Mr. Henley has agreed to serve as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees," said Minister Moore. "His proven leadership skills, along with his wealth of expertise in corporate and public governance will be of great benefit to the Board and to the Museum."
Mr. Henley has been Managing Director of Subsea 7 Canada, a global company servicing the offshore energy sector, since 2008. Prior to this, he held several executive-level positions in various companies. In addition to chairing the Board of Directors of Subsea 7 Canada, he has served on the boards and committees of a number of organizations. In addition to having attended Memorial University of Newfoundland, Mr. Henley holds numerous industry certifications.
The Canadian Museum of Nature is Canada's national museum of natural history and natural sciences. Its role is to increase interest in, knowledge of, and appreciation and respect for our natural environment, throughout Canada and internationally.
