AVENS - A Community for Seniors and the Public Service Alliance of Canada reach a collective agreement - Minister Leitch congratulates both parties Français
OTTAWA, March 12, 2015 /CNW/ - Today, the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated AVENS – A Community for Seniors and the Public Service Alliance of Canada on the renewal of their collective agreement.
The agreement was reached with assistance from the Labour Program's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service provides dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code.

- AVENS – A Community for Seniors (Yellowknife, Northwest Territories) provides programs and services in support of seniors' wellness such as extended health benefits program and a personal care facility.
- The collective agreement covering all employees (approximately 95) expired on March 31, 2014.
