Bell Aliant and Unifor conclude new collective agreement - Minister Leitch congratulates parties on ratifying a new agreement for employees at Bell Aliant Regional Communication, Limited Partnership Français
OTTAWA, Oct. 31, 2014 /CNW/ - The Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated Bell Aliant and Unifor on reaching a new collective agreement for nearly 3 000 employees responsible for communication services throughout eastern Canada. Their current collective agreement will expire on December 31, 2014.
The agreement was reached with assistance from the Labour Program's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. The parties used the Preventive Mediation Program, which helps employers and unions to move towards a more collaborative approach and find solutions that benefit everyone.
