LUNENBURG, NS, Oct. 18, 2012 /CNW/ - Bell Aliant (TSX: BA) is investing $750,000 to bring its fibre-to-the home (FTTH) network to approximately 1,500 homes and businesses in the Town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. One of only 16 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Canada, Lunenburg is a community that thrives on innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.

Bringing Bell Aliant's FTTH network to a UNESCO World Heritage Site requires thoughtful planning and consideration. In May 2010, Bell Aliant first announced FibreOP's expansion into Nova Scotia with a $15-million investment to bring FibreOP to over 30,000 homes and businesses in the Sydney area. Since then, Bell Aliant has brought its world-class network to customers in Halifax, Truro, New Glasgow, Annapolis Valley, Yarmouth, Bridgewater, Digby and Antigonish.
