Bell Aliant Pioneers of New Brunswick Chapter 51 Scholarship Foundation awards five scholarships to local students Français
FREDERICTON, June 25, 2012 /CNW/ - Five New Brunswick students have been awarded $2,000 scholarships from the Bell Aliant Pioneers of New Brunswick Chapter 51 Scholarship Foundation.
The Scholarship Foundation awards annual scholarships to New Brunswick students who are pursuing post-secondary education. Each applicant is assessed on several criteria, including academic achievements, community and school participation, plans for continued education, demonstrated perseverance and the need for financial assistance.
The 2012 scholarship recipients include:
- Alana Totton, graduate of Belleisle Regional High School in Norton
- Allain Guitard, graduate of École Sainte-Anne in Fredericton
- Karen Daly Linton, graduate of Tobique Valley High School in Plaster Rock
- Simon Richard, graduate of École Mathieu-Martin in Dieppe
- Sarah Lord, graduate of Fredericton High School in Fredericton
The Bell Aliant Pioneers of New Brunswick Chapter 51 Scholarship Foundation Inc. was formed in 1992 with the goal of helping students in the province with physical or mental challenges pursue their education. Since 1992, the Foundation has awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to over 100 students in New Brunswick. The scholarships are funded through tax-deductible donations, memorials, bequests and a variety of fundraising activities.
