MONTREAL, March 18, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - CRIQ, Centre de recherche industrielle du Québec, recently had a patent approved by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a new type of camera case.
The equipment will now be used with most CRIQ scanners, including the SAGE X2 scanner/optimizer developed for the wood industry. Thanks to the ingenuity of experienced CRIQ researchers, the camera case was specially designed to meet the needs of laser profilometry inspection systems. Compared to conventional cases, CRIQ's case provides better protection from impact, fine particles, overheating, and condensation. It is attached to the frame of the laser-scanning optical inspection system, protecting the camera while allowing the user to adjust the scanning process.
"To get the most out of a cutting-edge scanner, you need to have complete control over laser and camera operating conditions," says Denis Hardy, CRIQ president and CEO. "Our latest innovation now makes this possible."
In addition to the U.S. patent issued to CRIQ, a patent is pending in Canada.
