Bloomberg BNA And Baker & Mckenzie To Host International Tax Conferences In Toronto August 29-31 Français
Conferences to Address Impacts of OECD's Final Action Plan on BEPS, Transfer Pricing and Other Issues Affecting Multinational Corporations
ARLINGTON, Va., July 25, 2016 /CNW/ -- Bloomberg BNA today announced that it will host two global tax conferences with Baker & McKenzie in Toronto, Canada. The 3rd Annual Global Transfer Pricing Conference: Toronto will take place August 29-30 and will be followed by the 2nd Annual International Tax Conference: Canada and Beyond on August 31. Both conferences will take place at the InterContinental Toronto Centre. Additional information is available at http://on.bna.com/ToNf301NBys.
"With countries around the world racing to adopt the OECD's BEPS recommendations, Canadian multinational companies face more international tax and transfer pricing compliance obligations than ever before," noted Jacques Bernier, Partner with Baker & McKenzie. "Both conferences are unparalleled opportunities to hear first-hand perspectives on these obligations, from policymakers, tax advisers and corporate peers alike."
"Because of differences in the speed and the manner in which different governments are implementing the recommendations, global companies are at greater risk of audits—and double-tax disputes," Molly Moses, Transfer Pricing Report Editor for Bloomberg BNA added. "Canadian and international government representatives, along with experts from the business community, will be on-hand at these events to help companies negotiate this radically altered compliance landscape and set priorities in the post-BEPS environment."
The Global Transfer Pricing Conference: Toronto will offer comprehensive, issues-based analysis on such topics as the future of transfer pricing documentation and country-by-country reporting, Canada's position on BEPS and what it means for intercompany financing, and the development, use and planning of intangibles. The conference will also cover alternative dispute resolution, multilateral instruments and competent authority.
The International Tax Conference: Canada and Beyond will cover a range of tax issues affecting multinational corporations, such as non-transfer pricing items under the BEPS Action Plan, and address more technical, Canadian-specific tax issues. The agenda will also cover the reporting requirements for cross-border reporting and compliance examinations, cross-border mobility issues, the challenges created by a global digital economy, and how to repatriate cash from a Canadian subsidiary.
Featured speakers at the conferences include:
- Diane Lebouthillier, Minister of National Revenue, Canada
- Carlos Perez Gomez, Director of Transfer Pricing Examinations, Mexico Tax Administration Service
- Alex Ho, Senior International Tax Auditor, Canada Revenue Agency
- Brian Ernewein, General Director, Tax Policy Branch, Department of Finance, Canada
