LACHINE, QC, July 15, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Group Spinelli broke ground for what is to become the new address of Spinelli Lexus Lachine in January 2016. The ceremony was attended by Lexus Canada representatives, Spinelli management and City of Lachine officials, giving Pierre Spinelli the opportunity to outline future plans for his car dealership group.
The new 30,000 square foot building will be built on a 135,000 square foot lot and cost more than $10 million. It will be located at 150 Montreal-Toronto Boulevard, near 1st Avenue in Lachine, allowing the relocation of Lexus Spinelli Lachine, presently situated along the river, on the busiest artery linking downtown to Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. This dealership dates back to 1990 and was the first to be established in Quebec.
In its new premises, meant to better serve the downtown-west clientele, Lexus Spinelli will be the first dealership in Canada to reserve a section for the sporty F Sport. Customers will have a lounge with a bar and a terrace to wait in total comfort. There will be an express repair service of less than an hour for minor maintenance jobs. Customers wishing to make a trip while their car is being serviced can take advantage of the dealership's limousine service, free of charge, to the Montréal-Trudeau Airport.
"We're taking advantage of investing over half a million dollars in the new, cutting-edge equipment," explained Pierre Spinelli, President and Chief Operating Officer. "The building will be energy-efficient with a heat recovery heating and cooling system and lighting in accordance with LEEDS standards. The Japanese-inspired design will integrate a minimalist, takumi-style look, offering a comfortable and peaceful atmosphere to customers.
An opportunity to revitalize Lachine
This new construction project opens exciting opportunities to redevelop the urban traffic of Lachine East. Within a few years, the Spinelli Group plans to relocate at least two of its other dealerships to the Montreal-Toronto Boulevard site. This will demonstrate the company's commitment to the area, creating a significant automobile hub.
By freeing up a large piece of land along the river's edge, the move is likely to clear the way for the revitalization of this area, which already shows signs of becoming a major recreation and tourist destination.
