Provides investors with options to manage volatility, increase income, reduce fees and improve tax efficiency
TORONTO, Sept. 16, 2015 /CNW/ - Bridgehouse Asset Managers is adding four new products to its independent platform of multi-managers. The Lazard Global Low Volatility Fund is an actively managed fund designed to address volatility. The Greystone Canadian Equity Income & Growth Class adds a unique growth approach in the Canadian dividend space. The Sionna Canadian Equity Private Pool offers reduced fees for volume investments in Sionna's flagship institutional strategy and the Brandes Global Equity Class provides exposure to the value style with the option of currency hedged or unhedged series. The new Greystone, Sionna and Brandes offerings are available in corporate class to enable switching without immediate tax implications and to minimize taxable distributions.
"Given recent market events, volatility is on everyone's mind," says Carol Lynde, President and COO of Bridgehouse. "Many investors require the long-term growth that equities offer but just can't take the dramatic ups and downs of the markets. Lazard has deep experience reducing volatility without compromising long-term growth. With Lazard, investors can still achieve their objectives without being kept up at night."
"We address volatility by investing in companies that are broadly diversified across sectors, industries and geographies, and which are high-quality, financially stable with historically consistent earnings" explains Paul Moghtader, Managing Director, Portfolio Manager/Analyst at Lazard Asset Management. "Our goal with the Lazard Global Low Volatility Fund is to reduce participation in the extreme market conditions without compromising our ability to outperform over the long-term."
"In addition to volatility, investors are also worried about generating enough income given low interest rates and their retirement needs," says Lynde. "One way to increase the potential for income is to own businesses that are growing and therefore able to increase their dividends over time. Canada's own Greystone Managed Investments Inc. ("Greystone") applies the growth style to income generation in the Greystone Canadian Equity Income & Growth Class."
"Investing in equities just for yield is akin to buying a bond except you're taking on a lot more risk," says James Baldwin, Senior Vice President at Greystone. "We're focused on companies that are growing their earnings and growing their dividends over time. We believe that is the best way to participate in long-term economic growth while also protecting against potential interest rate shocks."
"The Sionna Canadian Equity Private Pool offers high-net-worth (HNW) investors reduced fees on a well-known, 100% pure, Canadian institutional mandate for higher investment minimums," continues Lynde. "With the new Sionna Canadian Equity Private Pool, investors get a renowned Canadian manager with an all-important fee break and tax-effective switching privileges within Corporate Class."
"Many investors can benefit from global value and the potential for alpha in their portfolio," concludes Lynde. "Brandes is one of only a handful of investment managers worldwide with a global track record spanning more than 40 years. They are true, style-pure value investors applying the Graham & Dodd approach to security selection. The Brandes Global Equity Class offers access to Brandes' best large cap value ideas around the world with the option of currency hedged or unhedged series."
