BEAUCE-SARTIGAN, QC, Dec. 2, 2014 /CNW/ - Today, the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, announced Government of Canada support for women in the Beauce-Sartigan region of Quebec.
Vision Femmes is receiving $200,000 for a 24-month project that will engage women and local partners to create new economic opportunities for women in the Beauce Sartigan Regional County Municipality. A regional symposium will be held to identify barriers and make recommendations addressing the economic needs and challenges faced by women in their community. Local stakeholders will develop and implement strategies to overcome the identified barriers and enhance women's economic options.
This project was selected through the Government of Canada's recent call for proposals entitled Opening Doors: Economic Opportunities for Women.
