TORONTO, Sept. 30, 2015 /CNW/ - On October 21, 2015, more than 50 restaurants in 13 Canadian cities will join together to donate proceeds from their dinner service to Community Food Centres Canada. Funds raised will support local Community Food Centres and other organizations to offer healthy food and empowering food skills programs that build health, hope and community. The event will also drive awareness of the need for a rethink on how we address food issues in Canada.
It's easy to participate in the event: diners visit www.restaurantsforchange.ca to find a participating restaurant near them and make a reservation or go out to dinner on October 21.
More than a dozen chefs from participating restaurants across Canada flew to Toronto on September 27th and 28th to tour Toronto-based Community Food Centres and launch the Restaurants for Change initiative with Nick Saul, president and CEO of Community Food Centres Canada and James Chatto, event chair.
