OTTAWA, Aug. 1, 2012 /CNW/ - The Canadian Shipowners Association's (CSA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Robert Lewis-Manning as President of the CSA effective August 1st, 2012.
Mr. Lewis-Manning joined the Canadian Shipowners Association in 2010 as the Vice President, Operations after a twenty-four year career in the Royal Canadian Navy. His extensive sea-going career, appointments in senior corporate positions, and experience leading strategic change made him a strong choice for this key position in the marine industry. Regarding his new mandate, Mr. Lewis-Manning affirmed that he is "…eager to increase the profile of this important and innovative industry and ensure that it is recognized as a leader in sustainability and prosperity in Canada."
The members of the CSA would also like to acknowledge the six years of steadfast service of its out-going President, Mr. Bruce Bowie, whose dedication and commitment to the CSA was much appreciated and valued.
Based in Ottawa, the CSA represents the interests of Canadian ship owners conducting short sea shipping within North America. Its member companies provide safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation while continuing to innovate within the marine industry.
