MONTREAL, March 7, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Chimie ParaChem («ParaChem») welcomes the decision of the National Energy Board to allow the reversal of the Line 9B, operated by Enbridge. This decision will strengthen the polyester chain jobs market, of which ParaChem is a crucial player.
"Oil is the main constituent of an impressive quantity of everyday products," said Mr. André Brunelle, CEO of ParaChem. Polyester clothing, packaging, liquid laundry detergents, insulation and toothbrushes are all examples of common goods manufactured from petroleum products, he pointed out. But since it is ubiquitous in our lives, we must be able to consume oil responsibly."
With the reversal of the Line 9B, Quebecers will now have access to a supply of oil from the West at a competitive price. Because, according to Mr Brunelle, "we can always have the best factories, strict operating rules and competent people, if we do not have access to competitively-priced raw materials, our chances of success are compromised.'' This is why ParaChem can only be glad about the National Energy Board's decision to give this project the green light.
