City of Pointe-Claire Mayor Bill McMurchie will not run at the upcoming November municipal election Français
POINTE-CLAIRE, QC, Aug. 5, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, Bill McMurchie, announced today that he will not seek another term as Mayor at the upcoming November municipal election. "After 56 years of public service, 23 of them as an elected official in Pointe-Claire, my wife Denise and I decided that it was time to take up the new and formidable challenge of retirement", stated Mayor McMurchie.
Bill McMurchie is proud that Pointe-Claire is financially stable and still expanding. Fully dedicated to the quality of life in Pointe-Claire, McMurchie added, "over the years, Pointe-Claire has grown to be a city where our quality of life is enviable. The well-being of citizens has been and is still city council's number one priority."
Looking ahead, the Mayor declared :"I am confident that Pointe-Claire citizens will judiciously elect the person who will be the next Mayor, and that this person will possess our basic values: respect, honesty and integrity."
