MONTREAL, Aug. 2, 2016 /CNW/ - Back to school is an exciting time for families, but for parents who work hard to cover the basic costs of raising a family, the extra burden of purchasing school clothes and supplies can be stressful financially.
On Wednesday, August 17, Welcome Hall Mission closes down Acorn St. for its annual Back to School (Rentrée la tête haute) event, the biggest block party in town. Music, popcorn, cotton candy, face painting and air bounce installations are all part of the excitement. Most importantly, each child receives a brand-new backpack, bursting with school supplies selected especially for their grade level. Ensuring that they start the year in style, these students also receive a pair of new shoes and/or clothing.
"Welcome Hall Mission brings help, hope and compassion to thousands of disadvantaged families," said Antoinette Coluni, Managing Partner at Collins Barrow Montreal. "For the last three years, we have sent a team of 10 to 12 volunteers to help make this event a success and we are pleased to continue the tradition this year."
CB Montreal is also the auditor of WHM.
