CORNWALL, ON, Jan. 28, 2015 /CNW/ - Inspector Tim Kimpan, the Officer in Charge of the Cornwall Regional Task Force (RTF) since 2008, has recently announced his retirement after almost 33 years of service with the RCMP. His postings include Ottawa National Headquarters, Kirkland Lake, Sudbury, a United Nations peace keeping mission in Haiti and a 4 year secondment to the OPP Biker Enforcement Unit.
He will be starting his permanent vacation on Friday the 13 of March 2015 which he says is a lucky day for him. "I am leaving happy and healthy after a fulfilling and challenging career with the Force. My departure however is with mixed emotions as I know that I will miss my co-workers and the numerous partners with whom I enjoyed working over the years".
His replacement has yet to be announced but Insp. Kimpan is confident that an officer worthy of leading the RTF members should be identified in the near future.
The CRTF is a joint forces partnership that includes the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Canada Border Services Agency, Ontario Provincial Police, Akwesasne Mohawk Police and the Ontario Ministry of Finance.
