Correction: TSB deploys a team to the St. Lawrence River near Cornwall, Ontario, to assess two occurrences involving the tugboats Lac Manitoba and LCM 131 Français
GATINEAU, QC, June 23, 2015 /CNW/ - The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is deploying a team of investigators to the St. Lawrence River near Cornwall, Ontario, to assess two occurrences involving the tugboats Lac Manitoba and LCM 131 which have capsized. It is not known if the occurrences are related. The TSB will gather information and assess the occurrences.
Correction: the tug Dyna-Mo was NOT involved in the occurrence near Cornwall. The second capsized tug is the LCM 131.
The TSB is an independent agency that investigates marine, pipeline, railway and aviation transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
