MONTRÉAL, Oct. 1, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Gerry Frappier, President, French-Language TV and RDS and Bell Media French Programming Champion, announced today the appointment of Dany Meloul as Vice-President, Programming, French-Language TV, effective immediately.
Reporting to Frappier, Meloul will be at the helm of all activities pertaining to scheduling, planning, original content, and acquisitions for Bell Media's French-language non-sports specialty channels Canal Vie, Canal D, Z, VRAK, and Investigation as well as pay services Super Écran and Cinépop.
In her role, Meloul will be a member of Bell Media's senior leadership team in Québec, which includes Frappier as well as Luc Quétel, President, Astral Out of Home; Patrick Jutras, Senior Vice-President, National Sales – Sports and Québec; Anne McNamara, Vice-President, Human Resources; and Martin Spalding, Vice-President and General Manager, Local Radio and TV, Québec.

Meloul will assume her new functions at Bell Media's Montréal offices, at 1717 René-Lévesque E., with the support of Jean-Pierre Laurendeau, Senior Director, Programming (Canal Vie, Canal D, Z, Investigation), and Zoé Gilbert-Crabtree, Senior Director, Programming (Super Écran, Cinépop, VRAK).
A Québec media industry veteran, Meloul is widely recognized for her strategic vision and insight. She previously worked as Bell Media's Assistant General Counsel and before that at Astral for many years. Meloul is a member of the board of directors of the Harold Greenberg Fund's French program and has been working closely with outside producers, distributors, and various organizations for Bell Media's French-language television, radio, and digital services. In her role as Assistant General Counsel, she has advised Bell Media on various legal and regulatory questions that affect its operations.
Meloul serves on the board of directors of INIS and chairs the Québec Regional Panel of the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council. In addition, she is Vice-Chair of the board of Collège de l'Ouest de l'Île/West Island College and President of the Marianopolis Millennium Foundation.
Meloul previously worked at Transcontinental Inc. and Alcan Inc. in Canada and the United States. She holds civil law and common law degrees from McGill University and is a member of the Québec Bar and the New York Bar.
