MONTREAL, Aug. 16, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - DevMcGill and its financial partner TGTA, leaders in Montreal's residential real estate, are delighted to report that they are responsible for 63% of all new housing sales in Villeray-St-Michel-Parc Extension so far in 2017 (Source: Groupe Altus).
As Phase IV of the Castelnau development prepares to welcome its first residents, DevMcGill is proud to announce that 95 units in this final stage of the project were sold even before construction was complete. "This is quite exceptional within our sector and it represents excellent news for us," says Stéphane Côté, president of DevMcGill. "We take pride in creating living spaces that incorporate superb architecture and design – and we're clearly meeting a lively demand in this up-and-coming neighbourhood."
Making its own unique mark on the face of city since 1998, DevMcGill began Phase I of the Castelnau project in 2011, fashioning residential spaces from a heritage building on Boulevard St-Laurent, a Beaux-Arts structure dating from 1921.
Phase I was followed by Phases II, III and IV – adjacent new structures on Gary Carter Street that bring the total number of units to 386. With its beautifully landscaped grounds and proximity to Jarry Park, the entire project benefits from direct access to extensive urban green space.
In the wake of this initial success, in March 2017 DevMcGill launched Ateliers Castelnau (atelierscastelnau.com), a new development on the southern edge of the same city block. Planned in 5 phases, it will house about 350 units, and once again demand exceeds expectations. Over half the units in Phase I have already sold. The project integrates a former printing plant into a contemporary architectural ensemble, converting and revitalizing the existing heritage structure while showcasing its historic presence within the urban fabric. The entire project demonstrates DevMcGill's trademark blend of innovative new design, expert attention to lighting, and exquisite quality and craftsmanship – all underscored by sober elegance.
