MONTREAL, March 18, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Cancer Research Society is proud to announce the first edition of the EUGENIE BOUCHARD CHALLENGE.
This fundraiser, as original as it is spectacular, will see many business and media personalities measure their tennis talent against today's rising tennis star on the ladies' professional circuit, Eugenie Bouchard.
This exciting event will allow eight participants to test their skills in a seven-point tiebreak against the young 19 year-old sensation. These eight players will be chosen according to the highest bids in a silent auction benefitting the Cancer Research Society. To participate in this auction and who knows, perhaps become one of the eight lucky participants to play a tiebreak against the 123rd ranked player in the world, you must register at: www.EugenieBouchardChallenge.ca
Several artistic personalities and media representatives including Justine Boutet (Radio Canada Sports) as well as Paul Rivard (TVA Sports) will also have a chance to challenge the young Westmount athlete in a mini-tiebreak.
The first edition of the EUGENIE BOUCHARD CHALLENGE will be held on April 6, 2013 from 1:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m.at the Nun's Island Tennis Club situated at 300 Chemin du Golf. This "happening" tennis event, where amateur players can enjoy sharing a court with a rising WTA star while supporting a great cause, will be hosted by journalist-host Marius Brisson.
Chair umpire emeritus Claude Joly will see that proper tennis rules are respected while players selected by the silent auction will receive a video of their exploit.
This is a golden opportunity for selected players as well as for the public at large to get up close and personal with one of the true rising stars of international tennis. Since attendance will be limited, interested public viewers are asked to register in advance with: [email protected]
