In all, these three dailies attract more than 4 million readers every week. These data also show that more than one out of two people (56%) in Quebec choose Le Journal de Montréal, Le Journal de Québec or 24 Heures as their source of news on the platform of their choice (print, web and mobile)¹.

Le Journal de Montréal reaches 3.3 million readers every week across all platforms1; in addition, it is Quebec's Number 1 daily. While La Presse stopped publishing its weekday print edition at the end of 2015, the print version of Le Journal de Montréal remains just as popular with nearly 2.5 million weekly readers2. Also, comScore data confirm that the journaldemontreal.com site reached a peak of 2.7 million unique visitors3.
70% of people in Quebec City choose Le Journal de Québec!
Every week, Le Journal de Québec reaches 70%4 of Quebec City residents across all platforms, making it the most widely read daily in Quebec City. Le Journal de Québec holds the top-ranking position, 7 days a week4, in its print and digital versions. The comScore study also confirms that the journaldequebec.com site remains the favourite among Quebec City residents with 1,209,000 unique visitors a month, which is 16.5% more than its competitor3.
17,000 new subscriptions to the print editions of Le Journal de Montréal and Le Journal de Québec
In addition to these solid results, the number of subscriptions to Le Journal de Montréal and Le Journal de Québec continued to grow with 17,000 new subscriptions for the print edition, which represents a 10% increase5. This rise shows that readers care about their print newspaper.

The various Journal de Montréal and Journal de Québec digital platforms have helped the newspapers position themselves as leaders in the field of new media in Quebec. Among the innovations, their web sites adapt to all screens and the customizable and free J5 mobile application was designed for smartphone and Apple Watch users. Also, since this past December, Le Journal de Montréal and Le Journal de Québec are the first French-language media in Canada to publish content on Facebook Instant Articles.

Free daily 24 Heures reaches more than one million readers every week across all platforms6. Among these, 334,000 – or nearly a third (32%) – are aged 18 to 346. In addition to its exclusive distribution in the AMT network and availability at more than 1,025 target locations (schools, gyms and cafés), 24 Heures now benefits from more effective distribution: proactive hand-to-hand distribution involving more staff and longer distribution hours.
