LEVIS, QC, July 28, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Following the recent decision rendered by the Competition bureau, Exceldor confirms its purchase of P&H Foods, a turkey processing plant in Hanover, Ontario, and an investment in Golden Valley Farms, a further processing plant in Arthur, Ontario. These two plants will continue to produce products under the Butterball brand, as per a License Agreement with Butterball LLC, whose head office is located in Garner, North Carolina.
"The Competition bureau's authorization was the last step necessary to finalizing the purchase of P&H Foods. As of today, we are now able to produce and market the entire array of Butterball products in Canada, primarily out of these two plants that were part of the transaction," says René Proulx, President and CEO of Exceldor.
"We are therefore very happy to add Butterball to the products we offer and to also extend our production activities outside the province of Quebec," says Mr. Proulx.
The new Exceldor subsidiary in Ontario will operate under the name Exceldor Foods Ltd. As a result of this acquisition, Exceldor will have revenues of approximately $ 625 million and its products will be sold across Canada.
