BURNABY, BC, Dec. 26, 2012 /CNW/ - Today, media across Canada are invited to take advantage of Future Shop's one-day-only 'Open Media Policy.' Exclusively for Boxing Day, media are welcome to visit their local Future Shop store without prior approval from head office, making capturing content and footage for Boxing Day stories quick and easy.
Media are invited to visit all Future Shop stores open on Boxing Day to capture the hundreds of people lined-up at each store awaiting the doors to open, ringing registers and the overall excitement of Canada's biggest retail day of the year. The majority* of Future Shop stores in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario will open at 6:00 a.m. local time, with some lines forming as early as the night before on Christmas Day.
As Future Shop's busiest shopping day of the year, hundreds of thousands of customers are expected to enter its doors today across Canada and more than four million shoppers are expected to visit Futureshop.ca during its online Boxing Day sale (December 24 - 26).

* The Gatineau store will open at 8:00 a.m. and all other Quebec stores will open at 1:00 p.m. local time on December 26. Stores in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario are closed and open at 6:00 a.m. local time on December 27. Due to local laws, some stores open at 1:00 p.m. local time.
