GATINEAU, QC, March 4, 2015 /CNW/ - The Honourable Pierre Poilievre, Minister of Employment and Social Development, Democratic Reform and Minister for the National Capital Commission, announced today the appointment of Ms. Teresa M. Day as a full-time member to the Employment Insurance Section of the General Division of the Social Security Tribunal (SST).
Ms. Day has over 20 years of legal experience. She is currently working as a Sole Practitioner, focusing on providing legal advice and representation on insolvency matters to banks, trust companies, creditors and trustees in bankruptcy. Ms. Day holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science with Honours from Queen's University.
The SST began its operations on April 1, 2013. It aims to provide a fair, simple, accessible and less expensive process for Canadians. For more information on the SST, visit canada.gc.ca/sst-tss.

- The SST is an independent administrative tribunal that provides a fair and impartial quasi-judicial appeals process under the Employment Insurance Act, the Canada Pension Plan and the Old Age Security Act.
